Financial Operations Specialist

Location: (Alpharetta, GA) Schedule: Minimum 3 days/week, potential full-time

Position Overview

This position will manage the day-to-day financial tracking for construction, facilities maintenance, and procurement projects.

This role requires deep experience in bookkeeping with an ability to project, report, categorize expenses accurately, and assist in onboarding new clients with professionalism.

Beyond transactional tasks, we want someone eager to grow into broader operational responsibilities as BuildPoint scales. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for Construction, Facilities Maintenance, and Procurement divisions

· Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconcile bank/credit card accounts

· Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and projections for leadership review

· Create and manage expense categories to ensure accurate reporting and compliance

· Support client onboarding by coordinating with project managers, finance, and operations

· Track project budgets vs. actuals and flag discrepancies early

· Assist in preparing materials for leadership meetings and external reporting

· Collaborate with operations team on systems, reporting, and process improvement initiatives

· Ensure timely vendor payments, client invoicing, and expense reimbursements  

Qualifications

· Proven experience as a bookkeeper (minimum 3–5 years preferred), ideally in construction, facilities management, or procurement industries

· Strong skills in QuickBooks (or equivalent accounting software), Excel, and financial reporting

· Experience with job costing and project-based accounting highly preferred

· Strong attention to detail with ability to categorize expenses correctly across multiple departments

· Familiarity with projections, financial KPIs, and supporting leadership reporting

· Excellent communication and coordination skills to support client onboarding

· Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities

· Utilize AI as a resource efficiently  

Schedule & Growth Opportunity
